'86 325(e) no start. Ran it in an autocross yesterday (slow as balls but crazy fun) and it ran great. Go out this morning to leave for work and it cranks but with no start. there is voltage at the fuel pump relay, and at the plug for the fuel pump, and I cannot hear the fuel pump hum when I turn the key on.

I'm thinking all the sloshing around yesterday may have killed the pump? Any thoughts from the gurus would be greatly appreciated.

The definitive test would be to see what the rail pressure is with the fuel pump relay jumpered. But it does sound like the pump has failed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Got it started once, and my low oil light was on (on the check panel). plenty of oil, but it again wouldn't start. checked for spark using the screwdriver-in-ignition wire method, didn't see spark to the front strut mounting bolt, but I'm not 100% convinced I had a good screwdriver to wire connection. still no hum when I key-on.

A friend of mine is suggesting maybe a crank sensor, but wouldn't that not effect the fuel pump not energizing with a key-on? Wiggled the wires (with no effect) just to make myself feel better.

Would it be worth swapping in my other fuel pump just for S+G to see if that solves it?

also tried jumping the fuel pump relay way early in the process, pump did not energize with a key-on
