Help!! Broken a plastic piece by throttle.

I broken the clip that holds one of the wires to the throttle. I think it is for cruise control but not sure. Help! Can I drive it like it is? Does it need to be replaced? I never use cruise control if that is what it is for. I was installing the strut bar and there was not much room. Got it installed and was pushing the piece down to make sure there was enough room and it broke.

    Thanks for your help.

It is for the cruise control? I can drive it the way it is without a problem? Rookie mistake, but I'm trying to learn. Do I need to just replace the plastic clip?
      Thanks

That broke on mine and was effing up my idle when it got stuck. I just disconnected my cruise control.

                +1 on cheap.

Here's the part number: 13541747519 (Accelerator Cable Part; Guide Clip; Accelerator Cable to Throttle Housing). I replaced mine recently along with a new cable. New ones are black instead of the oem white.

Pick up a couple just in case you break one on the install.

Thanks for the info. The part number is for a different clip. I need the clip that is further down from that clip. I haven't been able to find just the clip. I have been told that I need to replace the whole wire or remove the cruise control. I am concerned about screwing up the idle.

Sorry about that, different cable. :-?

Though I wonder if the same part would work: see part #6 in the Realoem cruise control diagram that fits into #19
                    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...66&fg=20&hl=24

Autohauz az also notes that the clip piece may have been used on the cruise control cable.

Not clear from the RealOEM picture that cable (65711386243) has the plastic part you need though this could just be my eyes and the small picture.

You can do a cheap fix with tiny zipties or replace it when convenient. As stated earlier, it can get hung up on occasion and make the throttle not return to the closed position. This can result in anything from slightly high idle to a practically wide open throttle effect while driving. Been there, done that -not fun. Do repair or replace that clip if you are keeping your cruise control installed.
