Emergency! need help tonight!

Thought I had it fixed... Just repaired flywheel reference pin on my 86 eta, replaced the crank sensor and the battery. was starting fine... Now no start with plenty of cranking power. I have fuel pressure, but I don't have a noid light to see if the injectors are pulsing. I have some fuel in my intake, so I think the cold start injector is working. I do not have spark, and I dont' have a scope or a self-powered test light to see if the coil is pulsing. I do have battery power to the coil with the wires disconnected.

I have to have this running tonight as it is my means home, so any immediate help would be very greatly appreciated

So the car was starting fine after you replaced the reference pin and suddenly stopped today?

yeah I replaced the pin and it started, then it stopped the next day. the crank sensor had a chunk off of it (from where the pin smacked it), but I looked at the new "pin" (10mm bolt) and there were no marks on it, so the cps was clearing fine. I replaced the cps and the shop foreman at the dealer I work at suggested the gap may be too close after taking a couple measurements, so I spaced the cps up a little with a rubber washer. after that and replacing the junk battery it ran great for 2 days. now this...

Well did you try wiggling the wires on the connecter? It is a new CPS right? Check the resistance of the CPS as well just to be sure.

Pull a plug and check for spark. If you have spark its not the CPS. Also, stick a screwdriver on an injector and put your ear on the end of the screwdriver. You should be able to hear the injectors clicking when they open and shut.

yep unplugged it to check the connector, no corrosion or moisture in there, plugged it back in nice and snug

yeah no spark. i'm by myself here, so it's difficult to get my ear to an injector.

The bolt might not be enough for it to pickup a signal.

Years ago I bought some angle iron from Home Depot and cut a piece to use as the reference pin then used a bolt to bolt it to the flywheel. Worked with no issues after that.

it was my understanding that the pin wasn't that big to start off. Another member sent a pic with measurements of a piece of steel tacked on with a welder, bold head measures about the same as those. And yes, the bolt is magnetic.

I would think that that would inhibit me from the start as well, not after 2 days of steady driving?

If your replacement pint started and ran the car for two days it isn't the cause of the current no start, unless the pin has gone walkabout. No spark could be:

No timing data to the DME (bad CPS or wiring fault)
Power/ground problem w/respect to the DME (main relay, bad fusible link, bad ground)
Bad DME
No power to the coil positive
Bad distributor rotor/cap

I'm not ruling out the pin deciding to leave the flywheel, but I don't see any marks on the cps that would indicate it coming out.

main relay is energizing, and I checked all fuses first thing.

I'm getting full power to coil positive.

Used the screwdriver (stethoscope) method for the injectors, did not hear them clicking but I have plenty of fuel pressure.

distributer I havn't tested, but I know it was replaced by p.o. less than 10k miles ago.

I'm stuck on it being something with the cps because that's all I've touched so far. when the pin broke in the first place the car was running great before that, I just couldn't imagine that it would go from having no problems to having multiple electrical issues when all I could find was a single mechanical fault.

Seems so abrupt because it ran great yesterday, started on 3rd/4th crank every time. it did sit all day today, would temperature have anything to do with it? maybe changing the gap b/t cps and the reference pin?
