    good engine mounts

Yes I searched, didn't find the answer I wanted. What do people use for motor mounts, stock e30? I have a '91 325i. I'm guessing oem > aftermarket as always?

Depends on what you're using the car for (street, autocross, track) and how much NVH you're willing to tolerate. I went for these from Bimmerworld after the original OEM engine and tranny mounts sheared on my 1990 325i. So far so good.

If the car is a daily driver (or sees only occasional track time) the OE motor and transmission mounts are the best choice. But for a track car, Powerflex or AKG urethane mounts are a better choice.

I want less NVH so poly ones are not necessary, is it safe to say that after 20 years the original ones have deteriorated even if they look okay? I was just wondering if people used ones from a different bmw or something.

It would be safe to say that 10 year old mounts need to be replaced...

There may be some other BMW part that can be used, but to preserve the original ride quality, use the OE parts.

The mounts are a good preventative thing to change especially if you don't know what work has been done on the car. My engine mounts looked fine until they both visibly sheared and my radiator fan started shaving pieces of plastic off the shroud. On pre-88s (?) the lower radiator hose gets eaten. My transmission mounts looked fine even though they were sheared. Couldn't tell until the weight of the tranny was off them.

Sounds good, I bet my stupid automatic tranny is vibrating too... By aftermarket I meant cheaper stock replacements, I usually get oem though so I guess I'll stay consistent.

I use the Meyle OEM style mounts. Never had a problem with them.
