    Stroker build?

So time for the super noob question of the day...

I keep reading about stroker builds going into m20's and the huge performance boost you can get from it. Can someone please explain what exactly the stroker build entails? More out of curiosity than anything else

    Thanks

A search would have turned up a lot of information.

The "budget" stoker is an M20B27 engine, M20B25 head, intake, AFM, CPS, engine harness, and DME. It makes more power than an M20B27, but less than an M20B25 because of lowered compression ratio. A real stroker adds different rods & pistons to that build to get the compression ratio back up.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I did search it, only came up with people saying they were doing a stroker build. Not what work was entailed. And all that stuff you mentioned after the m20b25 is from the b25 right?

Takes a lot of $$ to get huge performance gains out of a stroker M20.

          I'll sell you my 2.8 m20...lol

Some people stick an M30 3.4 litre in, there's a fair bit more power available but I always think of the extra 60lbs.

It's not that 60lbs will slow you down much, I bet I weigh at least 60lbs more than you do, but that weight is over the nose and you'll feel it in the handling.

Haha thanks for the offer, but this was more out of curiosity than intent to do it myself (as nice as it would be) though I would love to get some more power. Having an Eta I initially accelerate crazy fast but I stop accelerating just as quickly ;)

use your eta internals and build a 2.7i stroker. theres a lot of info here on them. i forget what the whole list of parts you need is but it will be better than just your standard m20b27

but DO NOT expect huge gains. you want huge gains then you should start reading some books on turbocharging.
