Engine took a dump on me

My head gasket is leaking like crazy, and I got lots of carbon build up. I have another built head that i'm going to put on. But do you guys think the bottom end will need to be worked on?

I get ridiculously bad gas mileage and I have added about 1qt of oil in the past 2 weeks. It has low compression and one of the cylinders, and in two of the cylinders it has high compression which i'm guessing is because of carbon build up.. I suspect bad rings. Not sure how many miles the engine has. PO says it was 'rebuilt' but judging by the amount of oil buildup and dirt on the engine it's pretty clear that it wasn't. What do you guys think?

Before you tear into the engine, get cold & hot (dry & wet) compression and leakdown numbers. That will tell you a lot about the condition of the engien.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Dry numbers:

      1:180
      2:160
      3:120
      4:180
      5:150
      6:150

Haven't done a wet compression test yet

Also get the leak down numbers.
