Metal Fuel Line

Found out that my metal fuel line to the fuel filter had snapped in half due to major line rot. Where can I find an OEM line with all the bends?? or should I just pick up a reel and bend/flare my own?

I thought about steel braided replacement fuel lines... a little more flexible and easy to route.

Interested to hear how this goes. I need to do this for my truck (and at some point my E30), so my vote is for the beer with roll of line and flaring tool. You could even change out to 3/8" line which would make the rubber lines easier/cheaper to source.

Even though it would be easier to route, I would think that braided steel would be ridiculously expensive compared to new steel lines.

I just priced it out at $25 for the line you need. But what do I know?

I believe they come as straight lines, you have to bend them.

I just cut the rusted through part out and attached the same type of rubber hose that the fuel filter uses to the good part of the line. seems to be holding up and works just fine. it ended up being 3 or so dollars to fix. this is obviously not a permanent fix. mind you I did not use plain vac line its definitely high pressure fuel hose.

when I lifted the carpet behind the drivers seat the floor was filled with gas. I guess from gas spraying on the floor board it made the corner rust out faster. allowing fuel to spray in under the carpet. sooo glad I didn't spark a butt on the way home from picking the car up hahah!

Well I had this problem, but with most of the loing brake hardlines, like the one from the abs to above the diff. Big pain in the butt. I would reccommend making your own though, a big roll of line is only like 10 or 15 bucks, then 10 for flaring and you have to get those little fitting for a few bucks. Its super easy, just you want to take your time, because if you can get the original line off bent in all the right places, then you can mock up the new one in all the right places. This makes it much easier putting it it and having it contoure to the chassi lines.

This is all from a 16 year old kid. Its not hard.

probably easier when its sunny and warm too. not 10 degrees with 10-20mph winds/snow haha. what i would do for a garage with a space heater...

I bought one from pelican parts, it came with the proper bends. I believe it was 30 bucks but i had to pay 25 for shipping do to how long it is. Still haven't installed it because all the screws are rusted and seized : /
