    Prepping for 800+ mile trip

I'm about to take a trip to phoenix and am planning on taking the e30. 200k on the motor, recent service includes tbelt, rotor, wpump, belts, oil/coolant, fuel pump. Known issues include minor vacuum leak and minor main seal leak. It'll be the longest trip i've taken with the m20, and I'm a little nervous. What else should I knock out? Rocker plugs? Vc gasket?

Make sure everything coolant related is tight. The coolant gasket on my throttle body completely gave out leaving me stranded one time.

I will be running mine 1200 miles in one shot next Thanksgiving. I should be up around 200k by then. Im not concerned. I would check the trans fluid level.

I used to drive my 88 M3 that has 265k on it on 800 mile trips and I wouldn't bat an eye at it. If it doesn't leave you stranded on a weekly basis I wouldn't worry. Normal maintenance makes for a happy car, just as it gets older expect it to not be so efficient.

Check the brakes. Also make sure all 4 tires and spare are good. I always carry an extra fuel pump, ecu relay and various fuses. Extra jug or 2 of coolant wouldn't hurt either. I just drove the ix, with over 200K miles, 6K miles no issues.
