No power to the fuel pump

Well, a few days ago, the e30 developed a hard start issue when the engine was cold. It would take approx 3-4 times of cranking before the motor fires up. Once the car was running, it would drive fine with no issues. This problem started a last week when the temperature outside dropped to 40F at night.

After I let the car sit a few days, I tried to start it and it wouldn't fire up anymore. Just yesterday, I installed a BRAND NEW VDO fuel pump and nothing. I tested out several spare relays and still nothing. I took a test light to Fuse #11, which regulates fuel delivery to the pump and it failed. So I replaced it with another good fuse and it failed still.

Now...I tested port #11 and its getting no power. There is no power going to the fuel pump. Where do I go from here??

LAST WEEK, THIS WAS MY PROBLEM: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=192619

    Do this:

...and recheck fuse 11. (BTW, make sure that is your fuel pump relay, should be one of the four pin relays in that cluster. Mine happened to be the middle one.)

Your pump should be running at this point.

Are you checking for power to the pump while cranking the engine? The pump only runs when the DME sees timing data from a rotating engine.

Does the engine have spark when cranking?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

What device are you using to test for power?

If your answer isn't "light bulb type test light", go to your local auto parts store and spend $5. Trust me on this: you NEED a cheap ass normal light bulb to test this stuff.

Yes, I have a test light and I connected it to port #11 while cranking the engine, there is no light.

Ok, so that leg of the main relay is good, the coil of the fuel relay should be getting power...

Give that jumper a shot (you don't have to use a fuse) and see if the pumps kick on.

If they do, its the relay, DME control, or wiring to either.

If they do not, and Fuse 11 is still not receiving power, take a peek inside C101, see if all looks well.
