    Good hoist hook up points

I am getting ready to pull my engine this weekend. I am going to be pulling the engine with the transmission.
I have the intake manifold removed.
I was wondering what are the correct points to hook the hoist up. I was thinking to use the bracket that comes of the head as the front hook up point but not sure for the rear.

Hmm will have to look into that, I dont really have really long chains as I am using a load balancer on the hoist.

BTW what headers are those they look great.

Also is it easier to remove the bitch clip form the shifter carrier and leave the shifter in the car or to pull the tranny with the shifter carrier attached.

The forward pickup point is the bracket mounted between the upper timing cover and the head. The rear pickup point is a lug that sticks out of the block just above where the starter mounts. I use a homemade hook for the rear point to avoid fighting my way around the intake and heater hoses to reach the lug. If I remember I'll get a picture of the hook tonight and post it.

I usually leave the shifter in the car if rebuilding it isn't a part of the motor pull. If I pulling the shifter with the engine/transmission once the engine/transmission has been partially lifted to make it easy to get to the bitch clip I'll remove the shifter before continuing.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That is with a "sweet" harbor freight load leveler. Note it is easier to get the engine out when you stuff the car into an FIA cement wall and chop the front end off...

I think the headers are the BavAuto ones, but I am not positive as they were on the car when I bought it.
