car idles bitchin but does not rev up.

I have an 85 325e and did the whole 325i motor swap from an 89 with all the needed components. The car starts right up idles fine but when i give it gas it revs up for a second and then flat lines. Did running compression and static compression check and the numbers are tits on a ritz. Fuel pressure checked out perfect also. I had a running 1987 325i and swapped afm and icv with the same problem. I NEED HELP PLEEZE. Is there something with the wiring i need to know about? I cut and spliced all 10 wires from square c101 to round c101 plug. I NEED HELP.

Run the fuel system tests in the Bentley and have a smoke test run on the intake.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'm new to e30's but my guess would be the painted crankshaft sprocket?

scrowner. good suggestion. I checked the tps and while i was there i looked at the icv and guess what? they were the same exact plugs so i swapped them around. The car runs tits. rookie mistake but not bad for the only thing going wrong on my first e30

Nice. This forum for the E30 is really helpful. This place has helped me along. Glad you got your problem solved and the "first" E30 is running sweet. Hope you get many years of fun out of it. I personally am very impressed with the E30 platform. The car is way overbuilt, making it a fine cheap car racer and a very reliable daily driver!

BTW, the 325e pre 88, ICV plug has two pins and the TPS connector is funky bigger connector on that same older car. The newer 325i, I noticed changed the ICV connector. I assume you used the original 325i TPS? And those two connectors are the same on the new 325i platform?
