Hmmmm is it possible my m20 has a hot cam
My '91 vert has a lopey idle when I start it up, and I've always suspected it might have a cam. Today I removed the ecu to install a EAT performance chip and found a JET Performance chip in it. There was also a sticker on the ecu cover that said JET 51001 dated 1997.
So I removed the JET chip and put the new one in and the car ran like shit, super lopey, idled very low and I had to keep my foot on the gas so it didn't die. I started to back it out of my driveway but it was bucking so I shut it down. That was enough to convince me to put the JET chip back in. After that, it was back to normal.
When I bought the car it had a headers, race pipes, m30 maf, and fan delete, so it seems possible the PO might have installed cams too. But it's hard for me to gauge if this car has more HP, since I've never driven another m20 car. Any thoughts?
