    What is this plug?

    Car: '88 325 S ETA

Picked up this car a few years ago for very cheap with a bad auto tranny. PO thought you had to pull engine to do tranny change and took apart the front half of the motor and put it in the trunk.

Fast forward to this week. Finally decide to do something with this car, finished up tranny swap. Oil pan gasket, valve gasket, valve adjustment, WP, TB, tensioner. Going thru the parts in the trunk I went to put in the airbox and am confused. I find the plugin for the AFM but there is simply no wire on the harness for this:

What is that, am I missing some other piece that goes elsewhere that has a pigtail on it? Bad thing is I am out of parts in the trunk, so I am stumped on this. Have not tried to crank yet as I still have to reinstall driveshaft (waiting on new CSB and Guibo) and exhaust.

    TIA

That is a barometric pressure sensor for Motronic 1.0.

Which you do not have. Why that is on your car is the question, is that an airbox from an earlier 325e?

If it is, I would double check that AFM.

Unfortunately I do not know, but I really appreciate that information. I will look for a P/N on the AFM and post it up here.

If I remember right you should have a AFM ending in 083. If you have anything different you'll want to swap it!
