Replacing injector connector on late harness

On the later 325i wiring harness, the big cover one above the fuel injectors....well i need to replace one of the plugs since it turned to dust upon removal.
I have a few that i can use, i broke one with a hammer to see how to remove the pins and i guess i have to go from where it connects to the injector and somehow use a small pick to release the tang.
With this in mind, i still cannot seem to release the electrical pins/wire out of the little plug and am getting frustrated.
Any tips would be nice :(

The easy solution would be to source the entire electrical rail from a salvage yard.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'm sure there is a tool to remove the contacts.
I got a hold of an earlier injector harness, and it has the nicer spring loaded wire locks on the connectors.
I should find the time to see if these spring loaded (finger) release jobbies are transferable to the later harness connectors (Fiddle with , using small screw driver).
