    Water pumped changed....Idle Problem

Ok so as it says we changed the water pump today and started the car ran fine. Untill about 3 min down the road started missing to high heavens im not a mechanic so im going to be the best description i can....had her completely broken down to the timing belt to do the water pump and it was deff replaced as the original owner had stated as well.... so the pump was replaced all back together and nice and neat... started up ran great and blead the coolant lines as usual to get out the air. car never stuttered/missed not once.
got a few min down the road and started missing like crazy and seemed to get worse as i headed home as i didnt want to break down on the busy freeway, i had figured i had gotten water/coolant on a line and was just interfering with the belts or something.....man was i wrong get to the house and when i start the car up misses the car is now missing so bad barely idles......the guy that did the water pump says it could be the end cap and "rotor button" on the distributor as he said they looked kind of worn when he had them off to get out the water pump......opinions:dot::dot:

Someone needs to turn the crank by hand until the mark on the crank pulley is at TDC. Then Index the cam to match.
Then see if the car runs better.
If the crank/cam are timed correctly, do a revision of parts moved, unplugged, or disturbed, to look for loose connections and hoses.

Was the timing belt removed to change pump. If so was a new belt and tension used? Given the work just done my first suspicion would be that the cam timing jumped, which can happen if you reuse and old belt. My second suspicion, if this is an 87 or later is that the CPS wire is rubbing on the water pump pulley. The CPS, Cylinder ID, and oil pressure switch wires are supposed to be routed through a plastic chase that clips to the front timing cover. If the chase is absent the CPS wiring can be abraded by the pulley.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The timing belt was never removed. Going to look over it today could just be something loose, going to look over cap and rotor and sensors.

You just have to take the car down to the timing belt to get one of the freakin bolts out the water pump. But nothing was ever adjusted on the timing at all.

            just throwing this out there...

maybe you unplugged or loosened the #1 injector to make some room, and it fell all the way off while you drove?

Sweet Fixed with no problem....Heres what happened the CPS was being grounded out by the water pump pulley and the fan spinning on it caused a small notch in the wire and causing it to miss something terrible moved the wire and routed it across the top through the hoses. Because the little plastic cover's clips that covers it broke when we removed it today to inspect the wires. I felt it was a better placement for the wires away from the pulley instead of behind it anyways. BMW engineering I tell ya lol!
