Car Died Month ago Now Wont Start

Ok so We had a used m20 swapped in a 88 vert about 2 months ago (New Everything From motor to Gas Tank, gas lines, fuel pump, the whole nine yards). Ran and drove great for about 2 weeks after we got it. One day when getting gas the car just wouldnt start. We pushed it out of the way and went back the next morning when daylight to work on it and it cranked right up. It did this same thing numerous times, until finally it just wouldnt start one day at the store.

Took it to a trusted local mechanic, and was advised of the Motronic DME, bought a new one from someone here on the boards. Still no luck! the car will turn over all damn day just wont start like no fuel but with a brand new fuel pump and new lines this couldnt be the issue.

Now im no mechanic but that IMO lol.Anybody had a similar issue? Or a fix to the problem?

can you verify the pump working hmmmm do you hear it priming when you turn the key?? lift off the bottom of the rear seat (pops out) and hear again.

If it cranks, most likely you have spark. You can also verify this by taking out a spark plug boot, and putting your finger to it while someone cranks it : P.

If you have spark, you obviously have air the only thing missing is fuel to start... yeap, its that simple..

Just because it cranks doesn't mean you have spark, I recently had the same problem, it was caused by a bad crank position sensor. A search will net you the proper ohm readings for a good cps, but mine passed all the tests and was still no good. Replaced it and she fired right up. In the least check to see that your cps wire has not come in to contact with the fan or any other moving parts on the front of the engine.

mine is located in the middle, orange I think. It 'should" be the lower of the three relays

There is another plug near the cps plug this is attached to one of the plug wires (#6 I believe) it is the cylinder identifier sensor. Make sure that's plugged as well. Use a multi-meter to be sure the main relay is working, if the signal isn't getting to the relay to close, it wont power the dme.
