    Any chipped Eta's out there?

So I have been pretty dead set on getting a 2.5 in my 87 325es... But then I thought why.. I mainly just drive the car up and down the highway. So I am thinking about freshening up a 2.7 and putting it back and chipping it.

My question. Do any of you notice a difference after the chip is installed? Also what's a good eta chip? (I've noticed dinan and turner motorsports already)

    Thanks!

Ive driven stock eta's, and Ive driven my chipped eta with a 3.73 and theres a big difference. I mean you run out of gears faster but I wouldnt stay my car is a slug at all.

After having both engines, I would go with the 2.5 swap. However a chip in the 2.7 and a 3.25lsd is a MAJOR improvment over the stock 2.7
      TMS chip is good.

I have a dinan chip in my 87 ETA, and it mainly gives you more power up top, below and in the midrange there is not much change. I am having a 3.25 rear installed today, that should make some major difference

Everyone who's had a chipped ETA has said there is a undoubtedly difference.
It's the 2.5 guys who are on the fence about chips usually.

I will +1 what everyone is saying.

I have a Dinan chip and 3.25. Lotsa fun.

Hell, you can buy the ECU from me if you're interested and let us know what YOU think within a week.

(Nothing wrong with mine, but I'm moving on to M30 powa!!!!)

We're putting a chip in our LeMons eta... along with a welded 3.73 diff. Looking forward to it.

Man I hope the straights are short!
That would be a perfect combo with a 6 speed.

We'll be gear-limited to about 105... which is just about what we'll hit on the straight at Sears Point.

I used to own an 87 325es 5 sp , loved the car , not so fast but still fast enough and great MPG, I used to get 33 34 mpg on the freeway,
I opted for a DINAN chip for the car, the car was the same all the way up to 2000 2500 RPM but after that it would get a kick and would accelerate faster than the stock chip. feul eco wasn't changed that much but the only bad part was , I had to buy 92 oct gas( that time they had 92 instead of 91)
but other than the premium gas , the chip was awesome, so was the car till it got totaled.
it also passed cal, smog test with the chip installed.

When chipped do you have to run premium? That's the first I've heard of that?

                        That's usually the trade-off.

I don't drink or smoke, but I do put premium in my cars. I figure it's about $4 extra per tank. Worth it to me.

Chip with a 3.25 diff is totally PERFECT. Trust me.

I have a fully rebuilt stock m20b27 with about 18k on the rebuild. Turner chip, 2.93lsd, rebuilt injectors, properly running or replaced everything. Its a fun daily car. I miss the b25 when I want to mess about, but thats quickly replaced with the low RPMs and stop and go traffic torque.

I am glad I rebuilt the 2.7 simply put. Plus it looks nice. lol
