My buddy has a car that stopped running one day. It sat in a parking lot overnight but then fired up the next day. He drove it for a few weeks and then it stopped running. I was giving him some on the phone instructions and it fired up after he tossed in a different relay so I figured that was it but then it died after he shut it off. AFter a few other relays nothing changed and then it sat for a few weeks in non op condition. It is now in my hands and I tried cranking it a few days ago while I was testing some radios and got nothing. Today I grabbed something from inside it and cranked it and it fired right up and ran perfect. I shut it off for a few hours and it still fires and runs.
What could cause an e30 to start and run normal for a few days and then not start for a few days? When it is not starting I have fuel and spark and it does crank. When I say fuel I have not tested the injectors for power when it is not starting. I have not really touched it and I probably wont for a few weeks but I thought I would start looking around.
It can't be a vac leak since it went from not starting to starting and running great without moving and inch. Fuel pump maybe but I tossed in a known working one and nothing changed. I really think it is fuel something.
