    MAF differences between years?

on Pelican there's 3 different MAFs availible depending on the year. My local junkyard has mostly later model e30s and I'm wondering if I can use a later model MAF on my 86 eta.

Yes, it's an AFM. Air flow meter.

No, you need the correct one for your motor. You need an early model AFM.

This may seem a bit redundant but the AFM in my 86e was previously replaced with an 87. (marked used part).

I am having some serious vacuum issues and have not been able to locate the direct source, is there a chance that this one was no "right" for my 86?

Thanks Bene, I have checked Pelican and it doesnt really tell me what Im after. I will look for a P/N on the junkyard MAF on there now to see which one it lines up with. Its only label is "87 BMW" in my 325e
