fuel sender unit question

i replaced both senders unit in my 88 325is, when the igniton its onn it works perfect, once i start the car the fuel niddle goes up like 1/4 more.
what could be causing this? fuel gauge in cluster?

A bad gauge, bad cluster, or wiring fault are possibilities.
