    Alternator question

I just have a quick question, ive searched a bit, but will an alternator from a 318 work on my 325 with an M20 engine?

www.RealOEM.com , run the last seven digits of your VIN, look up the part number for the alternator, and run a P/N search for applications. If the E30 318i you have the alternator out of is listed, it'll work. By the way, why do you need an alternator? Most of the time, if the alternator's bearings are OK, you can just replace the voltage regulator and you'll have "rebuilt" the alternator. You don't even have to take the alternator out of the car.
