    like i said excuse the noobness..

    where do the measurements start? how do i know if its low, or too much?


    how many quarts of oil for the m20? and what weight do you guys recommend? im thinking 5w30. let me know.. thanks!

    You want it to be between those two straight marks.
    Higher one is when you know its topped off.

    You want to run a heavier oil our m20's.
    For a climate like Cali I would run 20/50 like i do her in TX in the summer.
    In the cooler months I run 10/30.

    E30 M3 / E30 325is / E34 525iT / E34 535i

        Between the 2 arrows. The difference in the amount of oil between the 2 marks is one quart.

        The oil light on your overhead check panel comes on when your oil level hits below the lower line, indicating that you're low on oil.

          DAMN THANKS GUYS! i drew a fat blank when i checked my oil. haha. How many quarts does the engine normally take in? thanks again!

              I usually put in 5 qts at each oil change since my car has leaks & I tend to drive it hard at times.
