    stuttering, sputtering

I replaced my spark plug wires today, and the car ran amazingly. No more occasional arcing/backfiring. Washed my car, and then a check light came on and ran like there was a shot fuel pump or vacuum leak. Lots of sputtering and no power. Fault code says 1221, or o2 fail. Could the car wash have fried my o2? Are these symptoms of a popped sensor? I recently replaced all the intake items, so I feel like its not a vacuum leak? Also, the fuel pump is new. I don't see how I could have gotten water on the o2, because its been raining and I've had no problems. Checked the wires and they are hooked up in proper firing order, 153624 on the cap.

Answer: wrap around the o2 wire splices had worn through, tiny bit of water had shorted it. Let it dry out and readjusted the wires. Works for now, but I'm going to have to go check my spices and wrap them with a better heat-resistant material.
