Early to late model ECU swap???

Im wondering if i can swap the ECU from a 91' 325 to my 87' 325. They are basically the same car but do have subtle differences. I dont see why it wouldnt work & you dont know until you try but i was hoping to get some info before i fry something in my car by doing this or something. Thanks for the help.;)

Yes it will work just fine assuming your 87 is an i or iS. If it's an Eta it will not work.

Cool, thanks for the info. Mine is an IS & the car its coming from is an I. Now i can swap them without worries.
