    What is this found inside cracked oilpan?

    Removed cracked oil pan and found this little piece. Any idea what this is and if its important???

                              Well, I know because I've spent the better part of more than 12 years in the Automotive Repair Management. You see all sorts of things, One day I should tell the story of the 17lb. Possum that I chased out of the front bumper of a Toyota Camry after it bit one of my techs and cost him a week of work. And the tip of his pinkie.
