What to upgrade with CAMS??

Hey ppl. I just got a 87 325is. I am looking to go with schrick since ive heard great things about em when i owned my VW. I se they have applications for my car but i dont know what size is best. I dont want to go to big and loose low end power! What have ppl known to work?
also what other parts do need to be replaced while in there?...springs, valves??

im kinda cluless when it comes to internals and I dont want to spend money on useless power upgrades.

On a fully stock engine you won't gain much. You should do springs too so the cost is pretty high. Get a MarkD chip and a 4.10 LSD and if you aren't happy swap it.

I've run some pretty lumpy cams with stock valves springs and retainers. I would not replace them, it's simply not worth it. However, I would recommend port and polishing the head since you are going to replace the cam anyway. Does help considerably.
