    Fan/fan clutch replacement

Long story short I have a fan with two broken blades that needs to be replaced before the car overheats. I believe I have an after market radiator with not much clearance to work with. I need to know how to remove the fan for replacement and what else needs to be removed in order to do so. And also can the fan be replaced without replacing the fan clutch. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to get the fan off and out without removing the radiator, but if you can't the radiator is easy to remove. The fan clutch bolt to the fan, so you can replace either part. But unless you have a pretty new fan clutch, replace both parts.

The most common causes of a failure of the fan are loose fan shroud, bad fan clutch, or bad motor mounts. Best to deal with all of those at the same time so as to not soon have to replace the fan again.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The fan clutch bolt is reverse thread, don't forget that.

just replaced my fan clutch today, i removed the shroud prior to removal, made it easier to slip my hands around the coolant hoses, used a long nose visegrip, then a small prybar to hit it clockwise to break it loose, putting it on was easy since the new clutch has a lot of resistance, i just spun it on, then tightened with the same method.

I just got stuck on my fan clutch too, just remember to shoot the bolt with some liquid wrench.
