bogs down and dies arg!!!

Ok so on my 88 IX the engine idles rough and when I press on the gas it bogs down and dies. I'm thinking afm any other possible causes?

There are a number of possible causes, but before considering most of them you need to rule or (or eliminate) intake leaks. The only sure way of finding intake leaks at all of the possible locations is to have a smoke test run.
