I have an 89 325i. Oil level light is on so figured it was the sensor. Come to find out that the sensor is in the top of the oil pan but the wire comes up out of the sensor and into a three prong connector that gets plugged in to a female plug which is missing!!! So its not plugged in to anything. Looking around the same area a bit I find a cut wire that contains three wires, blue, green and brown wires I believe. My question is where do i even get the missing portion of the wiring system for the sensor. Do i have to order an entire engine harness or is this a separate item I can buy somewhere?

just cut the plug and splice the 3 wires to the matching other 3. solder, seal it up with some heat shrink wrap and tape up good to go
or
go to scrap yard and cut the needed connector off a shitbox
