I was under the impression that they were basically the same except the eta head was not dished out in the combustion area as much as the 'i' head - plus the 'i' head [assembled] comes with stiffer or dual valve springs and a bumpier cam.
I can also attest to the fact that the head on my '87 eta has MUCH smaller intake ports that the 'i' head on my workbench.
I can get you pics of the 'i' head all around, but I haven't taken the head off of the eta yet.
