    Really cant find the problem...

I just rebuilt my 88 325i from the head up. new spark plug wire, new spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, o2 sensor, head gasket, head bolts, rotor button, coolant temp sensor, afm, cold air intake, and more. My car will sputter after 3 grand and die. I've replaced things because I thought it was the problem, but now im lost and im not sure what it is. It runs fine until the engine starts to warm up. Then it will sputter and I lose throttle. Only things I have in mind are crank position sensor and coil. Other than that im lost. Please help me out. And I also put injector cleaner in it. And when.it warms up.the check engine light for o2 sensor comes up, but i just put a new one in it. Thanks.

    Ashton.

You can rule out crank position sensor. If that were the case, it wouldn't run at all.

The "O2 sensor fault" and rough idle suggest intake leaks. The high rpm fault suggests a fuel delivery problem, bad harmonic balancer, weak CP, or bad engine harness. If it only happens when using a lot of throttle, the WOT switch in the TPS could be bad.

Have a smoke test run on the intake and run the fuel system tests in the Bentley.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Can you explain what the Bentley is and what is the website?

The bentley is the most widely used car repair manual for the e30.

You should pick one up or at least google the PDF version.

Alresdy replaced the afm. So cps or tps?

I took my tps off and there was oil in it. Is that a problem?

How much? And would my exhaust being unbolted from the resignator back cause any problems due to less back pressure?

You can have my old coil if you want it, as long as you pay the shipping. I put a new one on mine just for piece of mind, but it was working fine when I took it off.

I had a similar problem years ago, changed the wiring harness, and it ran fine. Only changed the harness because I had tried everything else already.
