    E30 problems

Well recently my 1984 325e has been having some issues running. The car will randomly shut off when i'm coming to a stop and oddly enough this problem has only occurred in 2 different locations, and 3 times in the same location (turning right onto a main street). I've already had a look at the engine and found the air intake hose wasn't connected all the way and I thought that fixed the problem but it happened again recently. When the car dies it does stutter either, leading me to believe it isn't a problem with the fuel pump.

This weekend i'm going to get a ohm meter and start testing stuff to try and figure out what's wrong and i'm planning on testing the crankshaft position sensor, and the idle control value. I have already done the "tap" test on my main relay and the car kept running. Is there anything else you guys would recommend testing? I really don't want to have to pay a mechanic $100 just for them to tell me what's wrong.

:curse: I hav had that same problem for the las two months I hav replaced the intank pump, replaced main and fuel relays, new spark plug wires, plugs, fuel filters, new intake boot and hoses and hav not found the problem. I checked the fusible link. I cleaned out the fuel rail and the injectors, swapped icv at least five times. I would recommend tryin to look at all of these things to figure out the problem, I am thinking of replacing the external pump now. Let see how this goes.....:firehop:

This could be caused by intake leaks. The first action should be to have a smoke test run on the intake.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Check afm. Cps I believe etas have 2. Check check for. Ur fuel pressure should be at 44psi. O2 sensor but I don't think that would cause it to shut off. Check ur coil.

Ur coolant temp sensor could possibly cause this also.
