    idk what the problem is

Ok so I have my 88 IX and I know its slow but it feels like its not getting all the torque. Around 2500 rpm it jumps a tiny bit like 2500 to 2600 and feels like its struggling to get to 3grand. Any ideas. Btw new cap rotor wire set.

fuel filter, clogged cat, did you change the spark plugs and are the spark plugs gapped properly, valves adjusted properly ? is your timing on?

do a leak down test , and a compression test,

get a bentley and start troubleshooting

it could be a number of things, but most likley a combination of things that is causing the problem

Fuel filter is new I don't have a cat running Bosch copper gap .30 valves adjusted to .010 on cold engine timings on checked it a couple times. Did a compression test 2 months ago. There was one cylinder that was like 148 or something but pretested and it was closer to 180. Could it be my cps or coil going out? Its really diddle jumps when WOT and it feels really really slow.

your cps should be good since you can start it and it runs. maybe a tired coil, ive had a "tired' coil before and it was decieving, it would get spark but just not enough spark.

        have you checked fuel pressure?
perhaps AFM is starting to act up, keep trouble shooting. Im surprised u havnt had a dme fault code yet, detach your battery terminals to reset that shit, and reconnect after a few mins go for a drive and see if that does anything at all, stomp test? ( 173)

All things mentioned above, plus cap and rotor, coil. Check the injectors for clogs too. Also, Ix's are really not that slow.

Its more of a joke, cause it is the slowest I ever made and it did throw up a fault 1222 but no vac leaks injecters were cleaned about a month ago. Its running really rich 15mpg on highway. I'm gonna troubleshoot the coil.

Ok so getting 12 volts to coil. Temp sensor? Which one is the one for the dme? Blue or brownish?

go to advance and buy a spark tester. my guess is everything is fine for cruising and idling but once you put a good load on it the spark decides to go elsewhere. a good spark tester should take 25 kv to jump, if that works chances are the ignition is in decent shape
