Auto to manual pilot bearing

    Auto to manual pilot bearing

    Swapping an m20 from an 88 auto and it has no pilot bearing. In fact, it feels like there is a cap in the way. How can we clear the recess to install a bearing?
    1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug
    1989 LN106 Hilux / 3.0TD SFA
    1974 2002tii / stock
    2002 IS300 / 5spd LSD

    Auto cars should have nothing else there, just no bearing. Pop one in.

      Thanks matt, i'll check it out. is it okay if I hold onto the hoist until thursday? This little setback put us a day behind.
