Got a good one no start

1990 325i car cranks fine won't start when the hood is shut.(yes I said when the hood is shut.)

Open the hood cranks and starts right up. Close the hood shuts right back off.

Have yet to really inspect since this is my winter car and just started it up to go on a short drive. Will inspect based on replies here.

Start it with the hood open then close the hood and see if the car shuts?

Yup if you start it and have it running then you shut the hood the car will instantly shut off.

At what point when shutting the hood? When it hits the latch or what?

As soon as you pop the hood all is fine and dandy. It is only when the hood is fully shut as in driving position, that the issue happens.

Check the ground wire that's connected to where the hood closes on to the right of the fuse box
