    Looking for a injector thread

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am looking for a thread on doing a fuel injector swap. I'm looking cause I want to change mine out, and my Hayes book says to pull the intake mani. I don't really want to do that.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

is so easy, take out fuel pump fuse/or relay, crank engine, and let it start and die on its own,
    disconnect battery
remove intake manifold support braket that attaches tot he valve cover
undo fuel hose from fpr, and rail
    undo injector harness from injectors
undo valve cover breather hoseand push aside
remove injector to rail locking clips
pop off the fuel rail and or injectors as one , or seperately
replace the injector o rings and clean up all the shit thats hanging around the parts
    install is the reverse,
dont forget to lube the injector O rings lightly with some grease, dialectric grease works nice, just a little not a snot load! slap the fuel pump fuse/relay back and start her up once everything is re-installed
might need a few mins for the idle to find itself, go for a drive
    have a beer!

+1 on pulling the valve cover, it allows you to pull the rail with all the injectors in place and keep the crap out of the injector inlets.

Also check carefully for any nuts or bolts or other shit sitting on the ledge next to the injector holes so nothing falls in when you pull them.

I know it is not necessary, but this is the perfect time to pull the intake manifold and take care of a bunch of stuff.

You could take this opportunity to replace:
            throttle body gasket
            throttle body heater gasket
            throttle body heater hoses
            heater hoses
            intake manifold gaskets
            intake return tube o-rings
            thermostat housing gasket
coolant hoses (vary early model vs. late)
            Starter
            fuel lines
            valve cover to tb hose

I've forgotten a couple things but you get the picture!!

I did this on my DD a few months ago while also replacing my injectors and the added cost wasn't terrible. It really isn't that much more work to pull the manifold vs just pulling the fuel rail if you can turn a wrench!!

Also I was told by a BMW tech a lot smarter than me that you lube a fuel injector o-ring with Vaseline and nothing else!!
