    chip, is it worth it?

Like the title says, would it be worth it? Got the 173ecu, 10.5lbs flywheel and 3.73 LSD. Would I see a big difference with the chip?

if a person is asking if a chip is worth it, do you really think he'd be willing or even capable of running megasquirt?

OP, chips are awesome. One of the best bangs for your buck

TMS/jim c is a little weaker than mark d. dinan is better than mark d but only at full throttle as its got basically standard maps for light/moderate throttle while mark d (and TMS/jim c for the matter) have tuned part throttle maps.

if u can afford it (assuming they still make/sell them) or can find one second hand id say an autothority chip will be the best overall, its very similar to dinan at full throttle but also has fully tuned part throttle maps whereas any other with tunes part throttle maps i have seen (including TMS/jim c and mark d) follow a somewhat stock shape of ignition curve at part throttle allbeit running more advance than stock so more power but not as much as the autothority chip.

i also do chips for these ECU's and can do anything from a basic chip on par with TMS/jim c or all the way up to something super agressive both at part and full throttle like autothority or like dinan but with added part throttle tuning. notice i say "like" tho, i may have obtained chips from tons of names/brands to compare and test but i dont run off dupes..

                  Currently E30-less

not sure what chip i have ( came in the ecu in the car when bought ) but it pulls nice up top. i swapped in a stock 173 ecu and the car felt slow and dual up in top rpms. Soon as i get my maf kit , ill see what nice chip is in my 153 ecu
