When an event occurs does the tach go to zero while in gear and moving? That would suugest a problem with the CPS, DME, or DME power/ground. If the tach doesn't drop the fuel system becomes the likely suspect. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

No it doesn't go to zero but it occurs in the same amount of time sequence. I've replaced the dme. But I don't know where the dme power ground is. And should I still replace the cps?Comment

No it doesn't go to zero but it occurs in the same amount of time sequence.
DME power is provided by the small cable that connects to the battery positive post. That wire includes a fusible link that can go bad. If that happens the DME may "brown out". The DME grounds are the set of brown wires that are tied to the chassis at the right side shock tower. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I don't understand what you mean. If the the DME shuts down or looses timing data the tach will instantly go to zero. If that happens while the car is in gear and moving it is a sure sign that of a problem with the DME or CPS. However if the tach doesn't exhibit that behavior the probable cause a a problem with the fuel system.

i kinda have this too. I have a loss of power past 5k rpms. I have not replaced my fpr or tps , i cleaned the cpc. I do however have a very bad exhaust manifold leak. ( gaskets are trashed and missing one stud ) Car dosnt pull like it used to. Checked plugs yesterday. they are all a lil golden ( i replaced them maybe 5k ago ) got newish cap/rotor/plug wires..
Not thread jacking, i just need some info too.Comment
