Expansion tank hose question

I've tried looking everywhere and have not had any luck, so I thought I'd ask. Where does hose #6 connect to? I can't seem to find the bracket #7 either.

#6 is an overflow hose. Doesnt hook to anything else. Bracket #7 just holds the hose, and is often not there as well. Neither of my cars had either hose 6 or bracket 7, and are none the worse for wear because of it
