running rough when cold for the last week, died while driving today. fuel pump?

Over the last week or so it's been running rough and sometimes dyeing right after start-up, but just running rough after a block or so. Today while driving up a hill, I slowly lost power and then died.

It turns over just fine, but the more I tried the less it caught, making me think that the fuel pump went out.


when it cools down, I'll go over there with some starting fluid and do the checks.

Does your intake boot have any cracks?

Rent a fuel pressure tester and give that a whirl, that will help you quickly diagnose whether it is the fuel system which is causing problems.
