I just drove my car for the first time with the new engine in it and I've got a very annoying problem. In first gear, maybe even second, the engine performs fine. Then, in third gear (highway) the engine will cut out at approx 3200 rpm and then continuously hesitate and nearly die. On the highway I can get it up to 150km/h, and it'll hold there with the pedal to the floor. After a couple of seconds itll sow itself down to 140 km/h and eventually I have trouble keeping it up past 100.
If I turn the engine off and then back on it seems to clear the issue, atleast in the lower gears.
I've got a new fuel filter and pump so I know that's not the problem. I figure that its the AFM thats the problem but I'm not sure.
Can I try and switch my old eta AFM with the i AFM? (87 325is engine)
