    Fuel system cleaner

    Hi guys,

As always i needed some suggestions. When i took my car out of the shop i fueled it to full tank and drove around the city. After a while i found out the fuel gauge jumps from full to half and back. Could it be a bad fuel sending unit? I also think of trying out Redline ST-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner since i have 1 unused bottle. Does it hurt the fuel system? I just had my injectors cleaned and rebuild but i want to try cheap solution first. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Bad sending unit, or the ground nut behind the gauge has come loose.
My guess is the sending unit, it's common.

Does the ground nut on the Temp guage commonly come loose as well?

Any ground CAN come loose. Just do yourself a favor and take a look at the nuts on the gauges. Tighten them if needed.

My guess is a sender. The ground is a possibility too but it causes different symptoms than that.

my temp gauge has had a mind of its own as well, with similar problems, loves to jump around all over... is there a sending unit or something else that commonly goes bad with the temp gauge? or should i just replace the gauge and call it a day?

(i recently swapped out the si boards thinking that was the problem, but it still exists, the grounding nut was tight if memory serves me well...)
