    Yes, another stroker related thread...

I'm gunna try to keep this short because i am sure you've heard all this before..

So i am starting out with my 1987 325e with +233k on the odometer (the gears broke so idk how many miles are actually on the car)

The stock crank position sensor went out on me a few weeks ago so i figured this would be a good excuse to do the "2.7i" swap. I went to the not so local junkyard about an hour away and found an 89 325ic and pulled all the necessary parts for the swap, i also got mustang 19# injectors, and a 735 AFM.

As i was in the process of taking off the intake and throttle body, etc. on my car, i was totally suprised to find an 885 head was alread on my car. Now before you ask, absolutely everything on this car is e except for the head, also the pro-date is 11-86. And if the i head being on my car already wasn't enough, when i looked at the block, i saw the part number: 1 289 575 and followed by that there were the numbers 26 05 88.
So now i have no idea what motor is really in this car. Call me careless or lazy, but i just said fuck it and went ahead with swapping the harness and intake, etc. Everything except the head.

Now i have everything together and i fired it up last night, but she doesn't want to idle. Dies immediatley if i'm not on the throttle. i am pretty sure its the AFM, but i'm not really sure what is the best way to go about adjusting or tuning it and i have also heard you have to swap the internals from the m20 to the new m30 AFM.

Also, i have no tach signal. i know its an 87' body and it has the c104 connector in the glovebox, but idk what wires go to thatfrom the 89' harness. Same thing with the econogauge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks. That will cause the car to die at idle

I will double check for vaccuum leaks, but i am pretty sure i have everything hooked up. Brake booster, pcv, fuel pressure regulator, purge canister, ICV. I will look it over tonight though.

Get the 6th spark plug off of an i and it has a lead on it that connects right where the cps connects. Don't get them mixed up or ur car wont start. And as far as tuning.... megasquirt.

ha i wish i had the money for megasquirt.. but i meant for tuning/ adjusting the AFM
i realize now that i do need that 6th plug inductive pickup. i have the wiring for it, but my dumbass cut the plug wire from the parts car, so i will have to find another. i didn't want to hack up my plug wire so i haven't messed with that. and i read on a forum that the pickup was only used for fuel economy purposes so that was most likely wrong.

I know thats not where i get my tach signal from. its from the c104 connector in the glovebox. i just don't know which one it is and where to wire it.

Yes, that is correct. i just need to know what wires i need to splice to the c104 connector on the body harness
