Heres the thing, this is a car im buying, and the i made a deal with the owner that if i could get it running i would give him $500 for it, and i dont want to remove the manifold because i dont want to replace the gasket, im working on it in his driveway, so i gotta bring tools with me.

I always pull out the rail whole too. No reason at all to remove the manifold. it takes like 10 minutes.

I've always pulled the rail as a whole and therefore always pulled the manifold first.
Never thought that pulling the manifold was that big of a deal though.

I have done it many times, no big deal to change injectors without removing the intake.

I've taken them off without taking out the mani. It's a PITA to get the injector clips. But it can be done.

Unless you need a new intake manifold gasket, don't remove it
