I took the seat off and checked this out and couldn't hear anything.

I went through my Bently and can't figure out where I can disconnect the fuel supply line to test pressure.
Tee in a pressure gauge on the fuel line the connects directly to the fuel rail
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

What does that mean? Should I replace the fuel filter and count myself lucky?

pump is going, mine was doing the same, then i replaced the pump with one from the yard, it ended up being from a late model (which i have) but later found out that i have an early model tank in my e30.

got a undented, proper-era tank, new lines, filter, and pump. WOOO! starts first try everytime! i also noticed with my DENTED old tank, when i would take corners hard, i had fuel starvation.. probably due to the dent being right near the pump pickup.
