    M20B25 Head mods

I posted earlier in the week about snaping a rocker arm in my m20. Since i do have the head out of the car id like do splurge a bit extra since i dont plan on taking the head off again.

Looking at IE heavy duty Rocker arms, New Rocker shafts, and a Regrind 272 cam...All of this with the gaskets, belt, pump, tensioner etc. Im already looking at close to a G before sending the head to the machinde shop.

    This is my first rebuild...Pros/Cons?

I don't see why not, as long as you can source an oil pan for cheap.

MAYBE you can buy the engine for that much, but it won't even touch the car for $1500

Don't waste $$ on all that unnecessary shit.
Buy the cam and rocker that needs replacing and valve guide seals. Thats it.
Then spend the extra $$ on some long tube headers.

If you do the regrind, you will need oversized eccentrics as well. Just buy the billet cam. Heavy duty rockers aren't needed unless you are constantly living over 7000 rpms. What are you wanting to do with this engine, what are you currently running as far as software/ mods? You could go bigger valves as well to help the head inhale/ exhale better.

stock head rebuild, ltw flywheel, and 3.90 small lsd= more bang for the buck I think.

You shouldn't need bigger eccentrics for a 272 cam. I have run several reground cams that were much wilder than than that with no issues with stock eccentrics.

                    You're right, it won't. It'll probably be a hair under $1480.

You planning on replacing anything on that 1500 dollar motor, or you just going to shove it in there and hope it gets you to work in the morning?
