    b25 harness to eta connector

Anyone know what wires have to be messed with to put a b25 into a 86 325?

I have been looking and searching but nothing on doing the b25 harness work to swap it into a 86 325. The harness is from a 89 if that helps. And the eta car has the round harness connector on the car.

If they both have round connectors it should be plug n play, not sure what you mean by they need to be messed with.

most items should be plug and play. I would check the ABS wires to make sure that you arent connecting voltage to a ground. shouldnt take more than a few minutes in the ETM to determine any pitfalls
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

If he's talking about the engine connector like i think he is... ABS wires wouldn't be in the harness.

I was reading the build on strictlyeta.net and it said something about the obc plug and the econometer needed to be jumpered. Or switch to an I tach. Now my question is how do you convert a sqaure plug to a round plug?

86+ has the round plug though Nigel, which is what the OP has.

Since I have the round plug it should be plug in and play? I was reading about people swapping and they were talking about splicing etc. I have the round connector on the car I am swapping to.

I just wanted to clear that up, I tried talking to a guy on e30tech that swaps lots of them. Seems he has not logged in for around 2 years. So I am sure he is not going to respond.

And the ABS, I don't think it has any.

If you already have the round connector in the car that's being swapped it is plug and play, and no there are not any ABS wires in the engine harness.

Do you guys think there would be interest if i was able to make and sell square -> round harness adapters? I've made a few already.

I don't see why not, I am sure they would not sell out crazy fast. But good to make up a batch and put a thread up.

The late model harness will plug and and it should run but there will be some wiring differences.

An 87 i/is engine harness is the best way to do it. Everything works perfectly, no splicing, cutting, or anything.

Tach and econometer wires will need to be spliced.
