325e with 325i engine DME help

I just bought a 325e that has a B25 engine in it. Currently it has a 027 DME in it but it won't pass smog. My thought is that because the engine and DME don't match is a possible reason for it not passing smog.

If I were to swap in a 173 DME, I would also need the matching wire harness too, correct? What else do I need.

Looks like I bought a crazy, mix-n-match car, just trying to make sense of it.

Wow, this means it's still running the 325e harness. Wonder what injectors and AFM are in there. Those could be wrong, o2 sensor could be wrong, many things... If it were me I would swap in ALL of the i sensors, wiring, and ECU.

Do you have a list of the "I" sensors I would need with part numbers? Or could you point me in the right direction?

Also, what would be my best option for finding these part parts. Searching on the forums or just going to a junk yard? Also do you know how to identify if I have "I" injectors and AFM? Links to pictures maybe or part numbers.

I admit, I haven't tried searching for this info yet because i'm still at work.

      Thanks

Ok, I just got the harness and I think all the sensors at a junk yard and injectors. How do I know what AFM I have? Whats the difference between an e and I AFM?

The ETA and I/IS AFM's have different clock springs and different sensor boards.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
