rev limiter question (not like the others)

My motor used to have a fast and aggresive limiter that now sounds like it hits the limiter, comes back down a few hundred then goes back up and sort of hesitates. Any thoughts?

The rev limiter should hold the engine right at the redline. A drop in the tach like that makes me wonder if this is the rev limiter. Something else (bad CPS, fuel problem) might be cause symptoms like hitting the rev limiter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Checked the ohms and it checked out fine. Maybe the tps?

A bad WOT switch in the TPS will affect engine operation above 4500rpm on an M20B25. But that manifests as a lack of power. Cutouts that behave like a rev limiter below the redline will be a loss of timing data (bad CPS, bad engine harness, bad DME) or a loss of fuel (low fuel pressure, clogged injectors, engine harness, or DME).

So it wasnt the cps or tps. AHHH. I just saw a video of my old limiter and I miss it.
