knocking at low rpms? Please HELP

I have a 325e it runs fine it just makes a knocking noise from right about 1k rpm's and goes away by 2. This happens in neutral, while not moving also, so i know its not part of the drive train or anything. Could the valve's just need to be adjusted? It's more of a thud than a tick. No smoke, leaks a little oil. Somebody please help, I dunno if it's good to be driving the car like this...

I am having a similar problem with my car. It seems to knock randomly but very consistently at idle but goes away once I rev the engine. I thought it was just a belt smacking or a bracket but I don't see anything moving. My Vibration Damper seems to wobble a bit, so I'm thinking it could be that. But who knows, anybody have any idea?

probably not your valves, does the "knocking" go away when you push in your clutch? also does it sound like it could be coming from your tranny?
